bad graphics

Message23 Juil 2011, 18:26

i can see the graphics being drawn, this happens on every release of PCM, i can't understand it.

i'm looking at the riders, and right in front of my first rider i can see the graphics (just some, like shadows, highlights) being drawn, this is really really bad, and hurts real bad the gameplay.

how do i fix this? what option is making this?

i've uploaded a video to make it easy to see what i'm talking about.

i hate to have this on every single PCM, bought it 1 day ago, and already considering not playing anymore, i would appreciate some help to get rid of this.

how do i change the draw distance of those objects?
clearly it's an issue about draw distance of shadows and highlights.

Hello cachirro,

What is your hardware configuration?
If you turned up graphics settings, there is nothing more you can do.

WINDOWS XP
1. Click Start then Run or press Windows and R keys.
2. Type DXDIAG in the Run window and press Enter key.

WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7
1. Click Windows Start button or press Windows and R keys.
2. Type DXDIAG in the Search bar (bottom left) or in Run window and press Enter key.

System tab: Windows version, processor model and the amount of RAM memory.
Display tab: name of the graphics controller and the driver date.

i've put the graphics all maxed out, this issue seems related to drawn distance, because shadows and highlights seem to have a small value on that.
can i change this anywhere?
can this be added in some config file on ingame on options on a future patch? (i suffer this at every single pcm release)

about what you asked, here it is:

WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 64BITS
INTEL CORE2 DUO E8600 3.33GHZ
8GB DDR2 1066MHZ
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX260

there are several other users complaining about the same issue in another forum, fan forum.

isn't there anyway to change draw distances?
will this be finally addressed in a future update, or in the worst case a new pcm?

thanks.

i've also did a search for the word "distance" inside every pcm file, but i found a few hundreds, so it will be hard to know which file could affect this.

some of these files must be controlling the issue i'm talking about, can you tell me which ones? if not the specific file for shadows for example, or road objects, or whatever local thing that is, the global setting would also be helpful.

and, in 3d\landscapes there are alot of xml files with some variables that also might be it. can you tell me which variable could effect the corn fields for example to always show full size? i can see them grow up as i pass by them, and then they grown down if i look backwards, i want the graphics to be fully drawn when i can see them.

i've upload a new video where you can see how ugly it looks, the vegetation changing size as you pass:
