Crash on Startup

Message06 Oct 2011, 01:30

I click play, and then a white screen appears for a second at most, and then the game stops working.

I've already tried several solutions, and nothing has worked so far.

Did you try these already? (Copied from random threads in this forum because the support is too stupid or lazy to post all important information in one thread.)

Black or white screen at the start, or crash
For many reasons, Pro cycling Manager may not start properly. Here are some tricks to try to solve the problem :
-launch the game in admin mode;
-shut down the antivirus : some antivirus simply cut the applications with no warning;
-launch the game from Program files instead of autorun.
-skip the start videos : A codec problem may prevent the game from starting. You can rename the 'videos' folder in your installation folder.
-Change the 'my documents' folder : rename your 'Pro Cycling Manager 2011' folder in 'my documents', but don't delete it ! if the game starts, a new Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder will be built. You can then try to add the files from the former folder and identify which file is corrupted. Most of the time, the murderer is 'local.cdb'.

Run the game as an administrator
1. Open Computer then Local Disk (C:).
2. Open Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder.
3. Open Cyanide folder then Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2011 folder.
4. Right mouse click 'PCM.EXE' (PCM) application file and click Properties.
5. Click Compatibility tab.
6. Check 'Run this program as an administrator' and click OK button.
7. Run the game.

Reset the settings of Pro Cycling Manager 2011:
(Beware, it will erase your progress if you don't make a copy of the folder named Users)
A. My documents
1. Click Windows Start button and click My Documents or Documents.
2. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
3. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
B. Roaming folder
1. Open Computer then Local Disk (C:).
2. Open Users folder.
3. Open your username folder.
4. Open AppData folder (*)
5. Open Roaming folder.
6. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
7. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
(*) Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default.
Here is how to make it visible:
Open the Folder Options by clicking the Start button and click Control Panel.
On the Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization and click Folder Options.
On the Folder Options, click on the View tab.
Under the Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders and click Ok.

Maybe you should tell if this is a new problem or if the game never worked.

No sorry.
I was told in an email that apparently my F-Secure (antivirus) was corrupt, which it was not.

SO I still haven't been able to play.
